Georg Zeppenfeld

Following initial engagements in Münster and Bonn, Georg Zeppenfeld was engaged by the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden in 2001, which remains his artistic home to this day. Additionally, he has performed as a guest artist at nearly all major opera houses in Europe and the United States, as well as at the most important concert venues worldwide.

His Wagner repertoire encompasses roles such Daland in "Der fliegende Holländer," Landgraf Herrmann in "Tannhäuser," König Heinrich in "Lohengrin," König Marke in "Tristan und Isolde," Fasolt in "Das Rheingold," Hunding in "Die Walküre," Gurnemanz in "Parsifal," Veit Pogner and Hans Sachs in "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg".

Since 2010, Georg Zeppenfeld has been a regular guest at the Bayreuth Festival, performing the major bass roles in his repertoire. His highly acclaimed debut as Hans Sachs in "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2019, conducted by Christian Thielemann, marked a milestone in his career in this pinnacle role of the bass repertoire.

The diverse and extensive achievements of the singer are documented through numerous CD and DVD releases, as well as in radio and television productions of European broadcasters.

In 2015, Georg Zeppenfeld was appointed "Kammersänger" of the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, an honorary title given to outstanding singers.
